JUNE 6, 2001 - A new church was established with a vision of "Reaching
Our Community for Christ."
JUNE 17, 2001 - The new church chose "Living Water Baptist Church" as its
name.
JUNE 24, 2001 - Living Water Baptist Church met at Hendersonville First
Baptist Church. Wednesday night services were held at Brian Brown's farm.
JUNE 27-29, 2001 - Vacation Bible School, "Exploring God's World," met at
Brian Brown's farm. Assembly was held in the apple cooler and classes met
under tents erected at the site.
JUNE 1, 2001 - The church moved to the Upward Seventh-day Adventist
Church.
JUNE 15 & 22, 2001 - Vision and Mission Covenant and Core Value
Statements were handed out. On July 22, those in attendance were able to
sign and repeat aloud the Covenant to join the church body.
JUNE 22, 2001 - Five people were baptized, the first baptisms for the new
church.
AUGUST 5, 2001 - The first church-wide fellowship was held at Rhodes Shed
in Edneyville. As of August 5, 2001, charter memberships totaled 162.
NOVEMBER 18, 2001 - God's house was full so we started two services at
the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
NOVEMBER 29, 2001 - Devin Matthew Horton, son of Brandy and Dennis
Horton, was the first baby born to parents at Living Water Baptist Church.
JANUARY 14, 2002 - Five acres of land was found for the new church and
purchased from Mrs. Margarita Alliston for $192,500. The land was cleared
in February and March.
JANUARY 20, 2002 - The new church's Constitution and Bylaws were
ratified.
In early MARCH 2002, it was decided to have a yard sale to raise money to
help pay for the land. A "Chest of Joash" was also established.
APRIL 20, 2002 - The first "Operation Inasmuch" was held. Because of the
success of this outreach effort, it was decided the mission should be
continued in the fall and spring of each year.
APRIL 21, 2002 - The first church positions were voted on.
JUNE 2, 2002 - Living Water Baptist Church celebrated its first
anniversary in the Seventh-day Adventist Church gymnasium.
JUNE 26-28, 2002 - The second Vacation Bible School was held at Brian
Brown's farm.
JUNE 23, 2002 - Sara Jones offered the use of a house at the corner of
Sugarloaf and Pace roads rent free for one year of church office space.
JUNE 23, 2002 - The first handouts for the
building on the new church property were distributed.
JULY 26-27, 2002 - A yard sale was held at Balfour Baptist Church
recreation building. The sale raised $12,000. Another $6,000 was raised
during a jewelry auction.
SEPTEMBER 1, 2002 - A new church year was started and a budget was put in
place.
OCTOBER 2002 - The church family began "40 Days of Purpose," a six-week
spiritual growth campaign designed to answer the question, "What on earth an
I here for?" The study was based on Rick Warren's, "The Purpose Driven
Life."
NOVEMBER 24, 2002 - The church owed $32,855 for the land. The loan was
paid in full in December, 2002.
JANUARY 12, 2003 - A note burning celebration was held at he land.
NOVEMBER 23, 2003 - GROUND BREAKING!
JANUARY 7, 2004 - GRADING BEGAN
JANUARY 21, 2005 - RECEIVED OCCUPANCY CERTIFICATE
JANUARY 22, 2005 - WORK/MOVE-IN DAY
JANUARY 23, 2005 - LAST DAY AT SDA CHURCH - OPEN HOUSE AT NEW CHURCH,
